From the ocean's depths...introducing, Whale Song « Thread Started on Mar 18, 2005, 2:45am »
Whale Song is styled after an Orca whale. After seeing so many mermaids on the Arena I was dying to try one. I think all the mermaids I've seen have been gorgeous, but I wanted to be differant, so I decided to go with a whale theme.
She is rerooted with white and blue hair.
Her eyes were completely removed and repainted by hand. They are blue with tiny musical notes in them.
I chopped off her back legs and made her tail out of sculpy. Ugh. That d**n tail. Never again will I used tinfoil as the scaffolding for sculpy. The tail has broken 4 times. I'm amazed she looks as good as she does. There's still some minor flaws that you can't see in the picture that I have to fix.
Her body is repainted in black with white markings.
Her necklace is hand made with gold beads with a faux crystal pendant (It's plastic). The beads are hanging on thin, gold craft wire.
Her hoof mark is a G cleft.
I also have a question. With how many times she's broken...do you guys think she's still sellable? And how much do you think I should ask for her? I was thinking about $40 at least.

I was wondering were did you get the white hair?
I got it from a fashion store called Claire's. It comes on braded hair pieces. It's stiffer than most customizing hair so you have to style it with boiling water. They have a pretty good color selection too.
